DESCRIPTION:Silent Weekend is a voice off venue that welcomes people interested and involved in visual language. We have classes for those with no functional skill all the way up to and including those with native abilities. Classes are provided for RID members to earn CEU/ACET’s.  We also provide Professional Development Certificates. Come learn from some of the nation’s top presenters.  Participants from all over the country enjoy the atmosphere of camaraderie. This really seems like a cool event to attend to help you better understand this beautiful language and to learn. Log on to the website as there is a lot of information. I think I may attend this event.  \nWhen you register (unless you register as a fledgling) you will be asked to indicate your signing level. This information is only used to help us provide the correct number of workshops per level. At Silent Weekend feel free to attend any class that interests you regardless of level.\nThe levels are:\nBeginner: (Short 1-2 sentence responses\, some creativity in sign usage\, slow signing speed)\nIntermediate: (Begins to look like a “conversation” with 2-4 sentence responses\, moderate signing speed)\nAdvanced: (Can elaborate using ASL grammar\, is comfortable with visual language\, communication flows smoothly)\nSilent Weekend only allows those with paid registration to enter classrooms. Minors may not be in classes without a dedicated chaperone accompanying them and both must have a paid registration. Registration is required for all classes whether or not an individual wishes to obtain Continuing Education Units.\n\n

Against the advice of her friends\, she makes a deal with an evil sea witch for the chance to earn the love of a human prince. Danger is imminent\, but how can she ignore what’s in her heart? \nPlease note* There are many shows but only one will be interpreted for those of us who don’t know ASL or not that experienced in ASL. That show will be held on Saturday Jun 23\, 2018. There will be one show held at 2pm and another at 4:30pm. Log on to get tickets and more dates. Tickets don’t go on sale till May 3rd. \n
